Introducing Tim Sales: the 'Herbalife' Lord Hee-Haw!

Very recently, a commentator on CNBC sniggered in disbelief as he himself made the somewhat elementary observation that:

'If 'Herbalife' is a fraud then so are many other 'MLM' companies.'

However,  last summer another, smug, American financial journalist asked me:

'Are you seriously suggesting that the entire 'Direct Selling Industry' is a fraud?'

At that time, even in the light of the recent dramatic (33% or $1.7 billions ) fall in the inflated market-price of effectively-valueless 'Herbalife' shares (due to the incapacity of the company's senior officers to answer the most basic questions concerning external sales), this fellow still found it impossible to accept that, for decades, a growing number of gangs of sanctimonious racketeers behind so-called 'MLM direct selling companies' (like 'Amway', 'NuSkin' , 'Herbalife', 'Xango,' etc.), have successfully dissimulated vast, blame-the victim, closed-market swindles simply by supplying endless-chains of constantly-churning, ill-informed recruits with banal, but grossly-over-priced and, therefore, effectively-unsaleable, products, and/or services, enabling these racketeers to launder billions of dollars of unlawful losing investments (made on the false-expectation of future profits) as 'lawful sales (based on value and demand).'

It beggars belief that (to date) no one from the mainstream financial media has had the courage, or gumption, to go the grinning bosses of any 'MLM income opportunity' racket, look them directly in the eye and calmly keep asking them the following, blindingly-obvious question:

What quantifiable evidence can you produce to prove that your alleged 'direct selling company's' so-called 'Multi-Level Marketing income opportunity' has actually generated any significant revenue other than that deriving unlawfully from its own constantly-churning, losing-participants?'

To the majority of 'MLM Income Opportunity/Prosperity Gospel' adherents, this Blog, 'MLM The American Dream Made Nightmare,' is usually seen as being a 'Negative Website.' To the significant minority of intellectually-castrated 'MLM' core-adherents, my rational evidence-based analysis of 'MLM' as the technical-sounding, made-up name for a cultic, blame-the-victim racket, has been systematically dismissed as the irrational ranting of an obsessed critic who doesn't know what he is talking about. However, to the most-deluded, long-term 'MLM' fanatics, all free-thinking individuals and any quantifiable evidence challenging the authenticity of their delusional belief in 'future total financial freedom,' has been systematically categorized, condemned and excluded as absolutely evil.

David Steadson: The Unmasked 'Amway' Lord Hee-Haw

For years (as part of a wider, overall pattern of ongoing, major racketeering activity), the bosses of 'Amway' have sought to obstruct justice by hiding behind reality-inverting criminals who have steadfastly pretended moral and intellectual authority on the subject of 'MLM.'  Typically, of a cultic organized crime group, these provocative, de facto agents have posed as being independent of the leadership of 'Amway.' In reality, they have run various propaganda Websites and they have infiltrated countless other genuinely-independent Blogs and forums in a blatant attempt to disrupt free-debate and prevent 'Amway' victims from facing reality and complaining. This led me to label, David Steadson a.k.a. 'IBO Fight-Back', a.k.a. 'Insider', a.k.a. 'Icerat', etc. (the most-inflexible, and omnipresent, of these 'Amway' broadcasters): the Unmasked 'Amway' Lord Hee-Haw. At one time, this narcissistic little shit with a psychology degree posted a lengthy fairy story on the Net. in which he described the 'Internet War' being prosecuted against 'Amway' by the members of an international anti-capitalist cult.

Mr. Steadson has also repeated a familiar, and deeply-mystifying, financial fairy story. In brief, he has insisted that:

'MLM schemes' can't be pyramid schemes, because the minority of active 'MLM Distributors' sell 'MLM' products to the majority of inactive 'MLM Distributors' who, therefore, shouldn't be counted as 'MLM Distributors' at all - these are 'MLM' customers.

I quickly began to thank Mr Steadson and to invite him to keep up his efforts, because each time he opens his mouth and recites one of his predictable 'Amway' Calling , 'Amway' Calling scripts, he is merely proving the validity of every word I have published on this Blog!

Despite a growing mountain of other evidence confirming the accuracy of my analysis, there are still many casual observers of the cult phenomenon who (apparently in defence of their egos) simply refuse to believe that unsuspecting individuals can be tricked into entering a counterfeit culture in which their existing perceptions of right and wrong are overturned and made absolute, or that apparently rational persons can suddenly abandon all reason and allow themselves to be abused and exploited by cultic racketeers, whilst participating in the abuse and exploitation of others.

'Income Opportunity' schill, Dexter Yager (and spouse, Birdie ), preaching the kitsch 'MLM Gospel of Prosperity' by posing as ordinary, ignorant poor humans: turned enlightened, multi-millionaire super-humans.

For decades, self-styled 'Pastor' Dexter Yager  (a former beer salesman), was one of  the small group of racketeers who continue to steal billions of dollars annually by peddling a never-ending chain of 'Amway' hopefuls, exhorbitantly-priced publications, recordings, tickets to meetings etc. , on the fraudulent pretext that these  'tools' contain vital secrets to 'buiding success' in 'MLM.'

'MLM' cultic racketeer, Mark Gorman

The following is a transcript of a brainwashing ‘tape’ entitled: ‘How to Handle Negative Websites’produced and distributed by the ‘InterNet Services Corporation,’ an organization which was registered in the USA as a ‘privately-controlled limited-liability commercial company’ (apparently independent of ‘Amway’), but owned by ‘Amway Diamond Distributor’,  Dexter Yager.

(It is deeply-disturbing material like this which has produced, and maintained, the self-gratifying group-delusion controlling the personalities, and behaviour, of the most-inflexible 'Amway' fanatics):

‘I'm convinced more and more each day that this (‘Amway’) business was God's idea. What  I'm saying is God created this (‘Amway’) business so that we could pull families together and help people — and the Devil does not like that ! If you don't believe there's a Devil, go on the Internet  !  Man I'm telling you, there's a Devil ! The Devil does not like this (‘Amway’) business ! - He does not like the unity in this (Amway’) business ! All I want to say to you is:  guys, if I were the Devil and I saw a business that was keeping marriages together, where that men learned how to love their wife … they're taught from stage in Leadership sessions how to love their wife … where women are taught how to really integrate the marriage … the husband and wife relationship … where parents are taught how to bring up their children and encourage them to speak life and positive things into them so that those children have good healthy self-images and believe that they can really do anything that they put their minds to do .  If I saw a business that was responsible for holding those marriages and families together, and getting people out of debt, and learning how to treat people with dignity, respect and kindness … a business that gave people hope for freedom, hope for their financial future … that a person could not even succeed in this (‘Amway’) business without helping somebody else, and that the more people you help the more money you make… a business that teaches the principles of morals and ethics and integrity, that gives dignity to human life, that validates marriages an institution that should be reverenced that should not be put down or criticised or belittled .… If I saw a business that did all those things and so much more for humanity .… If I were the Devil, I'd hate it with a passion ! And I am convinced that not only does Satan hate the Church, I'm convinced with all my heart that Satan has good reason for hating this (‘Amway’) business. He has good reason for hating Dexter and Birdie and every Leader in their organisation. Satan hates this (‘Amway’) business with a passion, because this (‘Amway’) business stands for everything he hates ! And if you want to know whose behind those Websites, all I ask you is, who could it be… huh  ? … Could it be Satan ?’

Bearing all the above in mind, it becomes very easy to predict the reaction of the 'Herbalife' bosses to determined-challengers like Bill Ackman and Robert FitzPatrick.

Tim Sales: The 'Herbalife' Lord Hee-Haw

Currently, the bosses of ''Herbalife' are seeking to obstruct justice by hiding behind a reality-inverting criminal, Tim Sales, who steadfastly pretends moral and intellectual authority on the subject of 'MLM.' Typically, of a cultic organized crime group, this provocative, de facto agent is posing as being independent of the leadership of 'Herbalife.'

The ironically-named Mr. Sales (a former sailor), is yet another absurd, but nonetheless dangerous, 'MLM' guru - i.e. an extremely greedy, but otherwise-mediocre, young fellow who has learnt how to dress-up and play the unoriginal, and profitable, role of ordinary, ignorant poor man turned enlightened, millionaire superman. His recent propaganda broadcast (in which he first denigrates Bill Ackman as a wealthy Wall St. shark feeding off the poor and ignorant, then libels Robert FitzPatrick by describing him as
a hate-filled, fake, pyramid scheme expert and arrogantly instructs the independent media not to take heed of him), is a blatant attempt to prevent 'Herbalife' victims from confronting reality and complaining.

Mr. Sales repeated a familiar, and deeply-mystifying, financial fairy story. In brief, he insisted that:

'MLM schemes' can't be pyramid schemes, because the minority of  active 'MLM Distributors' sell 'MLM' products to the majority of inactive 'MLM Distributors' who, therefore, shouldn't be counted as 'MLM Distributers' at all - these are 'MLM' customers.

Self-evidently, this broadcast by the narcissistic 'Herbalife' Lord Hee-Haw forms part of a wider, overall pattern of ongoing, major racketeering activity (as defined by the US federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act 1970).

Thank-you, and keep it up, Mr. Sales!

Each time you open your mouth and recite one of your predictable 'Herbalife' Calling, 'Herbalife' Calling scripts, you are merely proving the validity of every word I have published on this Blog!

  2. I'll take your word for that Joecool.

    On a more serious note:

It's difficult to comprehend the scale of the racketeering activities in which Mr. Steadson (using his various disguises) has apparently been engaged. Indeed, it doesn't seem physically possible that one person can have made so many (lengthy) interventions on the Net, and over such a long period of time. There are literally thousands upon thousands of tightly-scripted, provocative, and/or reality-inverting, comments which can be traced to the 'Amway' Lord Hee-Haw.

Yet, according to Steadson, his endless, pro-'Amway', propaganda broadcasts (which undoubtedly represent thousands of hours of work) have all been made out of the kindness of his heart in defence of what he has steadfastly pretended to be nothing more than 'a harmless home business opportunity' from which he has never made an overall net-profit.

If you stop to think about it, the mere existence of such an improbable, omnipresent, unpaid super-apologist, is itself very strong evidence that 'Amway' is a cult and a fraud.

This is contrary to the good letter of law. It is an strong indictment against this dangerous pretend "industry." All the participants in MLM are always impressed upon that they own their own "Businesses." Not one of them is ever under the illusion alleged by Tim Sales that they are customers! Never!

    1. Thank-you Ex-ambot for your clear observations and brave eye-witness testimony.

Tim Sales should be recognized for what he is - a manipulative criminal reciting a familiar script.

Elementary common-sense reveals that all 'MLM' recruits have been described on their take-it-or-leave-it contracts as 'Distributors or 'Business Owners' and not as 'Customers.'

In reality, none of these terms is an accurate use of language.

One thing is certain, no matter what we all know to be true, the bosses of 'Herbalife' and their apologists will continue to follow the 'MLM' script and lie through their teeth - insisting that their 30+ year old company's 'sales' have been lawfully based on value and demand, and that no one ever gives their cash to 'Herbalife' in return for effectively-unsaleable wampum on the false expectation of future profits.

Exactly like the bosses of 'Amway' in the past, when faced with reality in the form of destitute ex-adherents willng to tell the truth, the bosses of 'Herbalife' will be obliged to change their 'MLM' script and claim that any criminal acts which have taken place within the ranks of 'distributors' were completely unknown to them and against the published rules of the company. They will eventually excommunicate the 'guilty Network Leaders' and insist that, although the company wasn't in any way responsible, 'Herbalife' has introduced 'better training programs' for its sales-force in an effort to respect the law.

This type of corporate labyrinth (maliciously designed to isolate major criminals from liability), is exactly what the US federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, 1970, was designed to address.

I don't know if you have been following the 'Herbalife' scandal on CNBC and Bloomberg, but, at the moment, this is the feeble defence being put forward by the bosses of 'Herbalife.'

Originally, in the wake of Bill Ackman's detailed public accusation that 'Herbalife' is a fraud (because virtually every participant is making a net-loss and none of the company's claimed sales are to persons who are not 'distributors'), when questioned by financial journalists, Michael Johnson (CEO 'Herbalife') committed wire fraud by stating that 'Herbalife has millions of customers' and that '90% of Herbalife Sales are to persons who are not Herbalife distributors.'

Less than 24 hrs later Johnson then said in a follow-up interview that he had 'mis-spoke in the heat of the moment,' and that what he had meant to say was that that '90% of Herbalife's sales are to distributors for their own consumption.'

This adaptation of the 'MLM' financial fairy story was then repeated by Des Walsh ('Herbalife' President) who explained that Bill Ackman's flawed analysis of Herbalife as a pyramid scheme was based on his failure to understand that in many cases 'Herablife Distributor' actually meant 'Herablife Discount Customer.'

I mean, how stupid of Bill Ackman to think that 'seller' meant 'seller' and not buyer.

Thus, the bosses of 'Herbalife' have already confessed to running a fraud (albeit indirectly).

  6. During the late 1980’s, Tim & I served together in the US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal community at EODMU 1 in Barbers Point, HI. We deployed to Bahrain in 1989 in support of Operation Earnest Will. Tim was instrumental in securing me a position at the Radiography Laboratory at the Naval EOD Technology Center in Indian Head, Maryland in the early 1990's. I vividly recall sitting in a Burlington, Massachusetts hotel room listening to Tim’s Nu Skin pitch. Tim had just reenlisted for six year, collected a hefty bonus and was frantically concocting a plan to convince the Navy Medical Board to release him from duty. Tim was an Anabolic Steroid fueled gigolo, whose main goal was to marry above his social class. Tim accomplished this after marrying former wife Lisa Fairbanks. The rest, as they say is history. Tim AKA Lord Hee-Haw accomplished the American Dream by selling dreams to the masses, certainly not a crime…I am a professional intra-day trader and currently short both NuSkin and Herbalife! I applaud Lord Hee-Haw for helping promote the MLM industry and now I will make my fortune on its demise. Btw, I love your articles and writing style. Keep up the great commentary.

    1. Anonymous - You have given my readers a very interesting insight into the tragicomic life of Tim Sales. However, when you say:

you seem to have overlooked the title of this Blog, 'MLM The American Dream Made Nightmare.'

In reality, Tim Sales (evidently, a narcissistic personality disorder sufferer), has been living the 'MLM' lie in order to peddle the same lie; and lying to people in order to take their money, is fraud which is a form of theft.

Judging by your apparent total lack of morality and disregard for the the victims of 'MLM' (some of whom have wound up losing everything and killing themselves), I'm sure you must be very successful in your chosen occupation.

If you are short in 'NuSkin' and 'Herbalife,' it's no wonder you want me to 'keep up the great commentary.'

  7. Your opinion states that Mr. Sales "...then libels Robert FitzPatrick by describing him as a hate-filled, fake, pyramid scheme expert." did you watch the same video as I? Mr. Sales simply differentiated between Fitzpatrick (or anyone else for that matter") being an "expert" versus being a "critic." Those were his exact words. That's hardly the same thing as calling Fitzpatrick a "hate-filled, fake, pyramid scheme expert." Actually, I think Mr. Sales' point was salient and well articulated. MLM is the only industry in which some who has failed at it is elevated to the status of "expert" by the media. Strange! By the way, do you have a medical degree or a degree in psychology or some related field? I'm curious as to how you came to the diagnosis that Mr. Sales suffers from narcissistic personality disorder?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous (or should that be Tim) - You will observe that the absence of speech marks denotes that I was not quoting the narcissistic Mr. Sales verbatim, I was merely paraphrasing him.

At approximately 6 minutes and 30 seconds into the video, he says:

"...he (Robert FitzPatrck) is not an expert on pyramids as he claims.... he hates and is obsessed with anyone who succeeds at MLM...'

Thus, contrary to what you steadfastly pretend to be reality, Mr Sales clearly libelled Robert FitzPatrick by falsely-characterising him as a hate-filled, fake, pyramid scheme expert.

As to your arrogant enquiry about how I came to diagnose Mr. Sales as suffering from NPD:

The following quotation is from 'The Universal Identifying Characteristics of a Cult' - a pamphlet of which I am the author.

      __________________________________________________________________________
'Narcissistic Personality Disorder,’ is a psychological term first used in 1971 by Dr. Heinz Kohut (1913-1981). It was recognised as the name for a form of pathological narcissism in ‘The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 1980.’ Narcissistic traits (where a person talks highly of himself/herself to eliminate feelings of worthlessness) are common in, and considered ‘normal’ to, human psychological development. When these traits become accentuated by a failure of the social environment and persist into adulthood, they can intensify to the level of a severe mental disorder. Severe and inflexible NPD is thought to effect less than 1% of the general adult population. It occurs more frequently in men than women. In simple terms, NPD is reality-denying, total self-worship born of its sufferers’ unconscious belief that they are flawed in a way that makes them fundamentally unacceptable to others. In order to shield themselves from the intolerable rejection and isolation which they unconsciously believe would follow if others recognised their defective nature, NPD sufferers go to almost any lengths to control others’ view of, and behaviour towards, them. NPD sufferers often choose partners, and raise children, who exhibit ‘co-narcissism’ (a co-dependent personality disorder like co-alcoholism). Co-narcissists organize themselves around the needs of others (to whom they feel responsible), they accept blame easily, are eager to please, defer to others’ opinions and fear being seen as selfish if they act assertively. NPD was observed, and apparently well-understood, in ancient times. Self-evidently, the term, ‘narcissism,’ comes from the allegorical myth of Narcissus, the beautiful Greek youth who falls in love with his own reflection.

Currently, NPD has nine recognised diagnostic criteria (five of which are required for a diagnosis):

      1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance.
      2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, ideal love, etc.
      3. believes that he/she is special and unique and can only be understood by other special people.
      4.requires excessive admiration.
      5. strong sense of self-entitlement.
      6. takes advantage of others to achieve his/her own ends.
      7. lacks empathy.
      8. is often envious or believes that others are envious of him/her.
      9. arrogant disposition.

  8. Mr. Tim Sales was the Scuba Locker Petty Officer at EOD Mobile Unit One in the late 1980's, probably around 1988-89 time frame. Mr. Sales was quite a ladies man in his younger days.I imagine Tim to be around 55 today. Although, I have heard the steroid abuse has taken a toll on his once Schwarzenegger-like physique. EOD Folklore States "Mr. Sales and a female Sales Executive named "Evette", whom worked for a local Hawaii Dive Shop carried on a love twist while double-billing the Navy for scuba equipment". A classic EOD Community tale. Tim maintained a core group of followers back then, but overall was unpopular among the rank & file.

    1. Patrick Jones - Even the briefest examination of 'Ariix,' reveals it to be yet another legally registered corporate front for a blame the victim 'MLM income opportunity' cultic racket. This unoriginal type of organized crime always comprises a closed-market swindle, or pyramid scam, dissimulated as 'an entirely legal direct selling opportunity,' run in conjuction with various advance fee frauds dissimulated as 'training an motivation programs, sale of leads,' etc.

Tim Sales has obviously been brought into the 'Ariix' racket in the tragicomic role of iconic 'MLM' shill. However, this tactic has been widely adopted by other 'MLM' racketeers.

Up until recently, the 'Xango' racketeers were using former iconic 'Amway' shill, Doug Wead, to play exactly the same inflexible role.

Tim Sales is one of many deeply-deluded 'MLM' shills who should have been stripped of all their stolen wealth and jailed years ago. Behind their arrogant smiles and scripts, they are extremely dangerous criminals and, sadly, the longer they have been allowed to continue without a rigorous challenge: the more they have become convinced that they are philanthropic businessmen and women.

Contrary to what you pretend, Tim Sales' reality-inverting characterisation of Robert FitzPatick as a hate-filled fake pyramid scheme expert, is not only libellous, but (as it was clearly an attempt to prevent 'MLM' victims from filing criminal complaints) it was also an attempt to obstruct justice which forms part of an overall pattern of ongoing major racketeering activity as defined by the US federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, 1970.

    1. I've decided to post this latest anonymous comment, because it's almost the perfect example of two-dimensional, reality-inverting 'MLM income opportunity' propaganda.

The author insists that he is not the narcissistic racketeer, Tim Sales. From what he now says about his 'books and speeches,' perhaps he's the Narcissistic racketeer (and suspected Presidential blackmailer), 'pastor' Doug Wead. He then goes on systematically to characterize all persons challenging the authenticity of the pernicious 'MLM income opportunity' lie, as the members of a 'community' who all have hidden ulterior motives and who refuse all dialogue with persons such as himself.

In reality, I have examined a mountain of evidence, applied common-sense and formed the conclusion that what has become popularly known as 'Multi-Level Marketing' is nothing more than an absurd, cultic, economic pseudo-science, and that the impressive-sounding made-up term 'MLM,' is, therefore, part of an extensive, thought-stopping, non-traditional jargon which has been developed, and constantly-repeated, by the instigators, and associates, of various, copy-cat, major, and minor, ongoing organized crime groups (hiding behind labyrinths of legally-registered corporate structures) to shut-down the critical, and evaluative, faculties of victims, and of casual observers, in order to perpetrate, and dissimulate, a series of blame-the-victim closed-market swindles or pyramid scams (dressed up as 'legitimate direct selling income opportunites'), and related advance-fee frauds (dressed up as 'legitimate training and motivation, self-betterment, programs, leads,' etc.).

Despite what this predictable Lord Hee Haw has steadfastly pretended to be reality, my position could not be clearer; for I've never been part of his two-dimensional 'pro vs anti' game of make-believe which all 'MLM income opportunity' propangandists (like himself) seek to play and to draw others into playing.

    3. 'Not the above anonymous' - the point is that all these shills are compelled to keep playing the same, absurd game of cultic make-believe entitled 'MLM income opportunity' - in which essentially they claim to have acquired a secret knowledge which has enabled them to have transformed from ordinary poor humans into multi-millionaire superhumans, and who are prepared to share this secret knowledge with anyone (for a price).

Other criminogenic cultic groups like 'Scientology' have operated essentially the same racket for decades, except the pay-through-the-nose-to-play 'Scientology' pseudo-science, is entitled 'Dianetics.'

It doesn't matter what I post, for obvious reasons, 'MLM' shills behave like machines programmed to keep acting out the above, laughable fairy story as though it is reality.

This is why I describe them as Lord Hee Haws.

  15. What really bothers me about MLM is that they take something that has a shred of truth to it and they introduce doubt into even intelligent people's minds. Something that most people should look at and laugh is entertained because it "seems" somewhat reasonable (on first inspection). Once you introduce that doubt into someone's mind (the doubt that this "could" be for real), the person is now vulnerable to all the marketing practices these companies and people like TS have learned to hook people. They have stories about "regular people" who were in debt and on their 'last dime'..and then they heard about "X" opportunity and they decided to spend their last dime on it....and now they are millionaires!!! I have heard this particular story told over and over to people to get them to sign up for a company. The whole idea of selling overpriced products to people who are "distributors" because they think they will get a future financial reward (by signing up their friends, family and neighbors to buy overpriced products) and so on, and so on, and so on.......this whole idea is completely sickening and should be completely outlawed by the United States Government. The other issue is, people WANT to believe it is true...they want to believe that they can "make millions of dollars working from home by signing up their friends, family and neighbors". It's the pitch they always use to get past a person's critical thinking mind: "Don't you want to quit your job, spend more time with your kids, not have to sit in traffic anymore, not have to listen to a boss, be able to take 4 vacations a year...etc, etc etc." Given that pitch, most people decide to look past the GLARING deficiencies that they see in the 'business model' because they WANT it to be true. Starting a real business is difficult, takes training and start-up capital and so many other things...the MLM lie is: "Give us one thousand dollars and you are in business. Now just go call all your friends family and neighbors and get them to do the same." Seriously, I really hate these people because they hurt so many people with their lies. Meanwhile, the owners of these companies and people like TS continue to make millions off the deception of the masses. If there is a hell, I hope there is an extra special place down there for these people.

  16. Well said 'Anonymous' - Throughout history, all the most successful charlatans have told their victims enormous lies that they wanted, or needed, to believe were totally true. These lies contained distracting elements of truth, and were tailored to fit the spirit of the times.

Sadly, when you start to examine the 'Fascist', 'Nazi' and 'Soviet Communist' instigators, you begin to realize that they too were absurd little charlatans peddling a Utopian future, but who actually succeeded in stealing entire countries using essentially the same devious techniques employed by the instigators of 'MLM' cults.

The irony of this is exquisite, because successive US governments have spent trillions of dollars opposing totalitarianism dressed up as 'National Socialism', 'Extreme Socialism /Communism', etc., but they completely failed to identify, let alone oppose, exactly the same phenomenon, simply because it's been dressed up as 'All-American Capitalism.'

Totalitarianism is a virus which can be camouflaged as virtually anything, and which is highly-contageous when it arrives during periods of mass-alienation and goes largely-unrecognised.

  17. This is ridiculous how much energy some people spend on attaching something they don't fully understand! Many will someday, with the right information and out of judgments or resentment (in case the supporters of anti MLM have failed in doing this business and therefore their current behavior) find out that this is the same opportunity for anyone, that some people have success stories and others fail, just like in anything else in life... (why don't you spend energy in a campaign again the gyms as just a very small percentage of people get the results they want) just to give an example as there are many others.
Amway already opened the way for the rest of companies in this industry in the 70s, after a long process with the law system if USA, and it was determine it is not a "crime".
Think about this, how would a government allow more than a hundred companies to build their distribution model based on MLM, if this was a "crime"? some companies mentioned in prestige magazines like Forbes, and with nothing to hide in terms of facilities and operations, how are they possibly be doing a crime?
I will tell you what you call a "crime", the fact that some individuals who are starting their business might over sell the opportunity by saying lies, exaggerating or giving false information or false expectations, however, that is individual decisions, just as they would occur in any other traditional company whose sales representatives might also over sale the products. (a crime would be in the news). It is not a crime when some people fail at something and they victimize. Life if like this, you either accomplish something or you don´t. Now, your page is good for people who tend to fall into this line of thought (play the victim), but it is certainly not attractive for people who are accountable of their lives and don´t need some hero to prevent them from making a mistake.

    1. Anonymous - Yawn, Yawn. Your tedious comment contains not one original statement or coherent argument refuting my aoverall analysis. Indeed every thoughtless "MLM" cultic cliché you parrot has been fed to you. Like all arrogant 'MLM' apologists, you merely confirm the accuracy of my overall analysis.

More than half a century of quantifiable evidence, proves beyond all reasonable doubt that what has become popularly known as 'Multi-Level Marketing' is nothing more than an absurd, cultic, economic pseudo-science, and that the impressive-sounding made-up term 'MLM,' is, therefore, part of an extensive, thought-stopping, non-traditional jargon which has been developed, and constantly-repeated, by the instigators, and associates, of various, copy-cat, major, and minor, ongoing organised crime groups (hiding behind labyrinths of legally-registered corporate structures) to shut-down the critical, and evaluative, faculties of victims, and of casual observers, in order to perpetrate, and dissimulate, a series of blame-the-victim closed-market swindles or pyramid scams (dressed up as 'legitimate direct selling income opportunites'), and related advance-fee frauds (dressed up as 'legitimate training and motivation, self-betterment, programs, recruitment leads, lead generation systems,' etc.).
