No matter how much you believe in the 'Lyoness' Utopia, you can never achieve it.

I have recently been asked some classic questions about the so-called  'Lyoness Income Opportunity' :

• How can 'Lyoness' be a fraud, when it is partnered with the world's largest companies?

In the Utopian 'Lyoness Income Opportunity' kingdom, the self-appointed ruler, Hubert the Rich, has told his poor, but loyal, subjects that in order that they can also become rich, out of the kindness of his heart, he has formed alliances with the world's largest companies. 

In the adult world of quantifiable reality, Hubert Freidl is a narcissistic little liar who has created a labyrinth of corporate structures which he has then used to buy gift vouchers from hundreds of legitimate commercial enterprises (large and small). Therefore, 'Lyoness' has never been acting in direct association, or partnership, with any authentic business, it has merely been a customer. 



That said, by withholding key-information, Hubert Freidl has effectively-stolen the names and reputations of countless famous (and not so famous) brands around the world in order to commit fraud and also to prevent the victims of that fraud from facing reality and complaining. 

When examined in splendid isolation, the 'Lyoness' cash-back scheme does appear to be lawful. However, membership of the scheme has not been 'free' (as has been widely-advertised). On the contrary, in order to join the 'Lyoness' scheme, members of the public have been obliged to buy an initial quota of gift card/vouchers (several hundreds Euros / $).  In reality, the cash-back scheme has been the entrance to a classic, dissimulated closed-market swindle or Ponzi scheme. In this, a significant minority of existing 'Lyoness' members (with access to independent funds) have been deceived into investing in ever-larger quotas of gift card/vouchers (several thousands Euros / $) on the pretext that if they duplicate a proven plan and recruit their friends and relatives to buy the same ever-larger quotas of gift card/vouchers, and their recruits then duplicate the same plan, ad infinitum, eventually they will arrive at a point where they will have thousands of recruiters multiplying beneath them in the organization, enabling them to earn hundreds of thousands of Euros/$ annually in commission payments, without any further effort.

No matter how linguistically and mathematically complex the presentations (or even attempted explanations) of the so-called 'Lyoness Income Opportunity,' self-evidently, the only money flowing into the economically-incestuous 'Lyoness' pyramid, is coming from a never-ending chain of investors (arbitrarily, and falsely, defined as 'Independent Business Representatives' ) who are condemned to occupy its lower levels. Indeed, for the insignificant minority of grinning schills to have arrived at the profitable summit of the 'Lyoness' pyramid, the overwhelming majority have been required to remain as deluded, de facto slave recruiters in its unprofitable base. At the same time, all these persons' losing-investments, made on the false expectation of receiving future reward, have been laundered as 'lawful sales based on value and demand.' Furthermore, since profits have been generated from, and sales-tax paid on, these ultimately unlawful transactions, by the various companies who have sold 'Lyoness' their gift vouchers, the bosses of 'Lyoness' have actually lured legitimate businesses and governments into deriving substantial benefit from a serious fraud.

The common-sense questions which (if put to Hubert Freidl by intellectually-rigorous  journalists, law enforcement agents, legislators, etc.), would begin to uncover the absurd, but nonetheless pernicious, nature of 'Lyoness,' are as follows:

• Since the organization's instigation, exactly how many people around the world have signed-up with 'Lyoness,' and exactly how many of these alleged 'Independent Business Representatives' have got back more money than they paid in?

• What quantifiable evidence can you supply which would prove that the so-called 'Lyoness income opportunity' has had any significant and sustainable revenue other than that deriving from a never-ending chain of losing participants?

Classically of an 'Income Opportunity / Prosperity Gospel' cult instigator, Hubert Freidl has sought to overwhelm his 'Lyoness' subjects emotionally and intellectually by steadfastly pretending that progressive initiation into his own secret mathematical/economic knowledge (coupled with total belief in its authenticity and unconditional deference to the authority of its higher initiates) will defeat a negative force of impurity and evil, and lead to future exclusive redemption in a Utopian existence (where no inhabitant works, but everyone is prosperous, happy and free). By making total belief a prerequisite of redemption, 'Lyoness' adherents are drawn into a closed-logic trap (i.e. failure to achieve redemption is solely the fault of the individual who didn’t believe totally). The so-called 'Lyoness Income Opportunity' is typical of cultic pseudo-science which is always essentially the same hypnotic hocus-pocus, but peddled in an infinite variety of forms and combinations (‘spiritual’, ‘medical’, ‘philosophical’, ‘cosmological', ‘extraterrestrial’, ‘political’, ‘racial’, ‘mathematical’, ‘economic’, ‘New-Age’, 'magical', etc.), often with impressive, made-up, technical-sounding names. 

'Lyoness' has been tailored to fit the spirit of the times and to attract a broad range of persons, but especially those open to an exclusive offer of financial salvation. Obedient 'Lyoness' adherents (who hand over their cash) are granted ego-inflating ranks and titles, 'Premium Members', etc., whilst non-initiates are referred to using derogatory, dehumanizing terms 'losers', etc. Although initiation can at first appear to be reasonable and benefits achievable, the so-called 'Lyoness Income Opportunity' gradually becomes evermore costly and mystifying. Ultimately, it is completely incomprehensible and its claimed benefits are not quantifiable. The self-righteous euphoria and relentless enthusiasm of deluded 'Lyoness' proselytizers can be highly infectious and deeply misleading. They are totally convinced that their own financial salvation also depends on saving others.

Perhaps the most-notorious example of a cult instigator who was also a prolific sexual abuser, and who was never held to account, is James Warren (a.k.a. 'Jim' or 'Jimmy') Jones (1931-1978).

Jones is now known to have been one of America's most manipulative sexual predators. He concocted a 'religious/political' fairy story of a future Utopian existence on Earth, entitled the 'Peoples Temple,' and then used his self-appointed position of authority within this unoriginal totalitarian fantasy, secretly to abuse and silence numerous, vulnerable men, women and children over a period spanning 3 decades. Classically, at the time, virtually none of Jones' sexual abuse victims came forward. There were, however, occasions when he came close to exposure. Despite his steadfast pretence of moral and intellectual authority, in December 1973, Jones (aged 42) was arrested in San Francisco for ‘making lewd advances’ to an undercover, male police officer in the toilet of an ‘adult-movie theater.' Jones was quickly released without charge and reports of the incident were at first suppressed by his supporters in the media. When rumours inevitably began to circulate about Jones’ sordid sexual adventures, a counter-rumour was launched that the popular 'Civil-Rights' campaigner had been framed by the racist police Dept. However, is now known that Jones was using under-age girls (the daughters of core-adherents) to supply sexual services to influential persons whom he wanted to blackmail. 

It is quite remarkable how many casual observers were completely fooled by Jim Jones' sanctimonious performance. Whilst various commentators described him as:

 a 'Jeckyll and Hyde' - a man who was capable of great kindness and great cruelty. 




Interestingly, exactly the same far-from-intellectually-rigorous observation was made of Hitler and Stalin; for, when the wider-picture is examined, it makes as much sense as putting counterfeit banknotes under a microscope and concluding that since parts of them appear to be faultless, they can't be completely valueless.

Due to the fact that Jones eventually caused, in a single day in 1978, the deaths of more than 900 persons (of whom around 40% were infants and children), his decades of sexual abuse have largely been ignored. However, it is a matter of public record, that, since the 1950s, the self-appointed sovereign leader of the so-called ‘Peoples Temple,’ the ‘Reverend’ Jim Jones, sought to control all information entering not only his adherents’ minds, but also that entering the minds of casual observers. This was initially achieved by his constantly denigrating all external sources of information whilst constantly repeating his group’s reality-inverting'religious/socialist/humanitarian/charitable' key words and images. During this period, Jones was protected by an echelon of amoral attorneys whilst pursuing various, hidden, criminal objectives (fraudulent, sexual and violent). Behind its Utopian façade, the so-called ‘Peoples Temple’ was always a brutal totalitarian State in microcosm, and Jim Jones was its first and final Dictator.

As well as the central structure which he arbitrarily defined as the ‘Peoples Temple,’ Jones organized the creation, dissolution and subversion of a mystifying labyrinth of (apparently independent) corporate structures, including the ‘Jonestown Agricultural Project’, pursuing lawful, and/or unlawful, activities in order to prevent, and/or divert, investigation and isolate himself from liability. Eventually, Jones sustained his criminal activities by the imposition of arbitrary contracts and codes (loyalty, secrecy, denunciation,confession, justice, punishment, etc.) within his group, and by the use of humiliation, intimidation, calumny, malicious prosecution (where he posed as innocent victim under attack), sophism, infiltration of traditional culture, corruption, intelligence gathering and blackmail, extortion, physical isolation, violence, assassination, etc., to repress any internal or external dissent. Sadly, for more than quarter of a century, Jones’ increasingly paranoid delusions went completely unchallenged by an alarming number of unthinking observers in US law enforcement, the media and in the political, and religious, establishment. These people preferred to ignore the quantifiable evidence proving that Jim Jones was a mentally-unstable narcissist turned megalomaniacal psychopath. 

After steadfastly pretending moral and intellectual authority throughout most of his life, faced with ego-destroying reality  (in the form of a fact-finding mission led by California Congressman, Leo J. Ryan), Jones not only slaughtered his most-determined critics, but also himself, his family, his followers and even his pet animals, rather be held to account for a gruesome catalogue of clandestine crimes. These chilling events have often been inaccurately described as a 'mass-suicide.'

In the light of the recent exposure of an extensive sexual abuse scandal in Britain concerning the late Sir James (a.k.a. Various 'experts' agree that sexual abusers are skilled at hiding their crimes and that, to this end, they use common techniques.

In brief, the 'experts' say that sexual abusers silence their victims using a combination of fear and threats and by making their victims believe that they were at fault.

Common sense would suggest that, in order to encourage the victims of sexual abuse to come forward, these same 'experts' ought to have long-since re-named the problem:  'blame-the-victim sexual abuse.'

However essentially the same question, and essentially the same blindingly-obvious answer, applies to financial and psychological abusers - 'income opportunity' racketeers, indeed most fraudsters, cover their tracks by blaming their victims.

That said, various gangs of 'income opportunity' racketeers ('Amway' , 'Herbalife' , 'Nu Skin' , 'Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing' , 'Xango', 'Lyoness', 'Club Asteria', etc.) have all infiltrated traditional culture and used sinister, reality-inverting, totalitarian, information control techniques which already place them almost as high on the scale of cultic, organized-abuse as Jim Jones.

It is also interesting to note, that, just like Jim Jones, when faced with the looming prospect of a rigorous criminal investigation in the 1970s, the 'Amway' bosses were the first 'income opportunity' racketeers who took the precaution of moving their clandestine activities out of the USA.

'A friend of more than forty years attended a Lyoness presentation and was intrigued. She is also retired and is interested in supplementing her Social Security and savings. Unlike me, she is a citizen of the United States. After the presentation, she attempted to engage in responsible due diligence on Lyoness, but found it difficult to distinguish fact from fiction. She called in a favor (I owe her more than I can count!) and asked me for help. I certainly have the time and still enjoy deep research, so agreed. After sifting through all available data, I “green lighted” the business opportunity. After more consideration, she chose to become a member and is now developing her business.'

New York Attorney General charges 'J.P. Morgan Chase & Co' with a $22.5 billions fraud.

For a long time, it has been almost universally accepted that the current, and ongoing, world economic crisis was triggered in 2008, when the wider-world found itself confronted with the nightmare reality that a relatively-small gang of de facto racketeers, comprising the already-fabulously-wealthy bosses of many of America's largest financial institutions, had been allowed to increase their own personal fortunes massively by using the legally-registered corporate structures which they controlled, to raise countless billions of dollars illegally, but isolate themselves from personal liability, via their subordinates' creation, and peddling, of a mountain of what was arbitrarily defined as 'Triple "A" low-risk bonds/securities' (now popularly referred to in accurate deconstructed terms as, 'toxic debt').

In reality, this counterfeit 'investment product' was linked to a frighteningly-familiar, thought-stopping, Utopian fairy story of 'ever-expanding future profits' that its authors had steadfastly pretended would continue to derive from long-term, high interest-rate 'mortgages' and 're-mortgages' (now popularly referred to in accurate deconstructed terms as 'liar loans') which had been previously granted to vast numbers of ethnic minority, and/or poor, and/or elderly, and/or unemployed, and/or disabled American home buyers without the slightest verification that these vulnerable borrowers would ever be able to repay their debts. 

Furthermore, knowing that one day private, and institutional, victims of their $ multi-billions global racket would almost certainly challenge the authenticity of the poisonous fiction (due to their inevitable losses) and demand repayment, the bosses of the US financial institutions which had profited the most from peddling 'toxic debt' backed by 'liar loans,' had fraudulently taken out insurance with 'American International Group' (AIG) to off-load their risk and, thus, avoid having to pay back their ill-gotten gains. Hidden within 'AIG' was a form investment bank exposed to massive risk. It has now been announced that the current, New York Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman, has finally filed a civil lawsuit in which 'J.P. Morgan Chase &Co.' is accused of defrauding 'investors' out of $22.5 billions in the form of losses on $87 billions of so-called 'low-risk mortgage-backed bonds' which had been created and  peddled by (the somewhat ironically-named investment bank) 'Bear Stearns.' 

Amazingly, the staggering financial crimes against humanity described in this recent NYAG civil lawsuit are limited only to the period 2006-2007. However, attorneys representing J.P. Morgan Chase &Co. have immediately defended their corporate client on the technical grounds that the bank only acquired 'Bear Stearns' in March 2008.
