The 'Herbalife' Ministry of Truth inverts reality.

The great weakness of all totalitarian, cultic groups is that, once you know how they function by deceiving their adherents into accepting a Utopian fiction as fact, the inflexible reality-inverting reactions of these groups to any challenge to their authenticity, can be predicted with almost 100% accuracy.

'Herbalife is a global nutrition company publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. We have more than 7,400 employees, millions of customers and for more than 30 years we have been committed to bettering the lives of those we touch with products that support and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.' http://iamherbalife.com/

Thus, the latest, predictable move by the 'Herbalife' Ministry of Truth, is the creation of a kitsch, new Website which serves up a veritable feast of reality-inverting Utopian 'MLM' propaganda; all of which has been designed to obstruct justice in order to continue to commit fraud.

Despite what they now steadfastly pretend to be reality, for decades, the propagandists at the 'Herbalife' Ministry of Truth have been constantly repeating the absurd lie that 'Herbalife' has 'helped millions' of people to 'realize' their 'financial dreams.'

As ever, this sinister new broadcast-platform for the 'Herbalife' Lord Hee Haws to recite their latest inflexible script, fits into an overall pattern of ongoing, major, racketeering activity as defined by the US federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, 1970

'The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a medium of expression for the world-view and mental habits proper to the devotees of Ingsoc, but to make all other modes of thought impossible. It was intended that when Newspeak had been adopted once and for all and Oldspeak forgotten, a heretical thought — that is, a thought diverging from the principles of Ingsoc — should be literally unthinkable, at least so far as thought is dependent on words. Its vocabulary was so constructed as to give exact and often very subtle expression to every meaning that a Party member could properly wish to express, while excluding all other meanings and also the possibility of arriving at them by indirect methods. This was done partly by the invention of new words, but chiefly by eliminating undesirable words and by stripping such words as remained of unorthodox meanings, and so far as possible of all secondary meanings whatever.'

Georges Orwell (Appendix to 'Nineteen Eighty-Four')

The purpose of 'MLM Income Opportunity' jargon is not only to provide a medium of expression for the unquestioning world-view and mental habits proper to the core-adherents of 'Herbalife,'  but to make all other critical and evaluative modes of thought impossible. It is intended that when 'MLM Income Opportunity'  jargon has been adopted once and for all and traditional language forgotten, a heretical thought — that is, a thought diverging from the 'positive' principles of  'Herbalife'  - should be literally unthinkable, at least so far as thought is dependent on words. Its vocabulary is so constructed as to give exact and often very subtle expression to every 'positive' meaning that an 'MLM Distributor' can properly wish to express, while excluding all other 'negative' meanings and also the possibility of arriving at them by indirect methods. This is done partly by the invention of new 'positive' words and phrases ('Herbalife', 'Multi-Level Marketing', 'Distributor' , Independent Business Owner,'), but chiefly by eliminating undesirable 'negative' words and phrases ('cult', 'totalitarian', 'fraud', 'deception',  'brainwashing', 'victims', 'exploitation' , 'de facto slaves') and by stripping such words and phrases as remain of unorthodox meanings, and so far as possible of all secondary meanings whatever.

  1. Hi David, I wonder if you were aware of the following study: http://business.pages.tcnj.edu/files/2014/02/Keep-and-Vander-Nat_MLM-and-Pyramid-Schemes_Final.pdf
I lost my now ex-boyfriend to these Herbalife charlatans. They recruited him and eventually 95% of his conversation were these weird canned phrases, he started considering the "opportunity" meetings as dates and would get angry & aggressive towards me when I wouldn't sign up. He is broke now having spent thousands of punds on marketing material - not one month has he even seen anything approaching break even. I see the same stories across the Internet why they haven't shut these schemes down considering the considerable harm they cause.

    1. Thanks - Ex-girlfriend of a Herbot.

I'm sorry to hear of the damage this phenomenon has caused to your life.

I witnessed exactly the same radical, personality transformation with members of my own family who became involved with 'Amway'

I have read Keep and Vander Nat's work, but I have to say that I have not found anything original in it. I have even spoken, at length, to William Keep and, in private, he freely-accepts that groups like 'Herbalife' have a cultic aspect, but he says that this is not his field of expertise so he is not prepared to make comment in public.

I am very interested to communicate with you directly. If you could please send me your contact details in the form of a comment, these will not be posted.

      Kindest regards.

  2. Thanks David, this is one of the best articles on Herbalife.

'We have helped millions achieve their financial dreams.'

The people who run this fraud are getting desperate. What they are now saying proves the old maxim - 'In order to be a good liar you need to have a good memory.'

    1. Anonymous - Thank-you, but interestingly, what the 'Herbalife' racketeers actually said was :

We have helped millions realize their financial dreams.'

The verb 'to realize' has several senses. Presumeably, the 'Herbalife' racketeers will now steadfastly pretend that they meant 'realize' in the sense of 'be fully aware of,' rather than 'convert into actuality' or 'achieve.'

In order to be a good 'MLM' liar you need to employ ambiguous words.

  3. Help! I've on the verge of losing a good friend through this company. To say she is brainwashed would be an understatement. I can't have a conversation with her without her bringing it back round to Herbalife. She expects all her friends and family to buy this crap and says that we are unsupportive when we don't. Despite me buying it from her when she started and becoming ill (turns out I'm allergic to some of the crap in it), she still wants me to buy it again so she can meet whatever ridiculous target she's been set. Oh, she has even been manipulated to think that she's setting these outrageous targets herself. The truth is, she wants to reach a certain amount of points so she gets a massive cut. It's a saturated market as every Tom, Dick and Harry is at it and the ones that aren't "distributors" have a mind of their own and don't want to get involved. What can I do? She is so defensive about it. She is that blinkered that she just spouts that "Ronaldo is sponsoredby it, so and so many years founded, blah blah blah". She's going to lose all her friends through this. I can't believe I'm the only one annoyed by it. I feel like she's only interested in our friendship if I'm buying something from her. She's gone marching round to her old place of work today because she didn't get the hint when nobody responded to her emails. Help!!!

    1. Anonymous - I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. It is very important that you stay calm and maintain contact with her no matter what she says or does. If you talk against 'Herbalife,' her handlers will try to cut her off from you. She's been lured into 'Herbalife' by giving her the illusion that she's made free choices. She will need to make a free choice to leave 'Herbalife'.

For more specific advice on how to try to bring your friend back to reality, I'm going to need some more details.

Please feel free to e-mail me. I will try to help you.
