Bahrain bans so-called 'Multi Level Marketing.'

More than half a century of quantifiable evidence, proves beyond all reasonable doubt that what has become popularly known as 'Network' or 'Multi-Level Marketing' is nothing more than an absurd, cultic, economic pseudo-science, and that the impressive-sounding made-up term'MLM,' is, therefore, part of an extensive, thought-stopping, non-traditional jargon which has been developed, and constantly-repeated, by the instigators, and associates, of various, copy-cat, major, and minor, ongoing organized crime groups (hiding behind labyrinths of legally-registered corporate structures) to shut-down the critical, and evaluative, faculties of victims, and of casual observers, in order to perpetrate, and dissimulate, a series of blame-the-victim closed-market swindles or pyramid scams (dressed up as 'legitimate direct selling income opportunites'), and related advance-fee frauds (dressed up as 'legitimate training and motivation, self-betterment, programs,' etc.).

In theory, Bahrain has banned all  'MLM Income Opportunity' cultic rackets, but in  practice, they are still operating there.

Hierarchical, network marketing banned
09 : 24 PM - 17/02/2015

Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA) The Minister of Industry and Commerce today issued edict 2/2015, banning hierarchical and network marketing. Increasing consumers' complaints about such business practices have prompted the ministry to issue the ban.

"Hierarchical and network marketing flouts rules and regulations, particularly the law on consumer protection", said Consumer Protection Director Senan Ali Al-Jabery. The concept of hierarchical and network marketing consists in convincing a person to buy a product and then persuade others to purchase the item which allows the chain to expand. The first buyer obtains more commissions in case he integrates more members into his network and increases the volume of sales.

Al-Jabery said that some companies adopting such operations have been contacted and urged to correct their activities and adhere to the ministerial edict. The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also been approached to direct the trading sector to comply with the ban and instruct hotels and hall-renting companies not to allow meetings that promote these two marketing practices at their venues.

"The ministry has started taking administrative and legal measures to ensure compliance with the ban", Al-Jabery said, calling upon consumers to cooperate. In a statement today, he announced that the ministry will take the required procedures in cooperation with concerned bodies at the General Directorate of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security to stop such marketing practices. Violations can be reported via hotline 17007003, email Consumer_protection@moic.gov.bh or the ministry’s twitter and Instagram accounts.

  1. I have read that Network Marketing is prohibited under Shariah Law any way.

    1. Anyone making such a simplistic (and thoughtless) statement demonstrates that he/she has a pitifully low level of understanding of both 'MLM income opportunity' racketeering and of the Islamic world.

Although various Islamic scholars have seen-through and condemned product based-Ponzi schemes as a form of ulawful money circulation game disguised as commerce, sharia law is not standard throughout the Islamic world. There is no sharia law text book or jurisprudence. On the contrary, different sects of Moslems and different schools of Islamic scholars, have different sharia law. Even terrorist gangs claim to abide by their own versions of sharia law.

Sharia law is not legislation, but in its various forms, it has heavily influenced legislation in Moslem countries.

Thus, the simplistic statement that 'Network Marketing is prohibited under Sharia Law,' is essentially meaningless.

Although sharia law is described by Moslems as a 'divine law,' it has been open to endless human interpretations, because it has been taken from sacred religious texts and from the example of the Prophet Muhammad contained in those texts.

Thus, the question which traditional Islamic scholars, and even legislators, always endeavour to answer when confronted with any problem, is:

What would have been the Prophet Muhammad's reaction to this?

It seems that Islamic scholars and legislators in Bahrain are currently answering this question very clearly in respect of the phenomenon of 'MLM income opportunity' racketeering.

    2. Does that mean that MLM is banned under Shariah Law?

    3. Anonymous - Re-read my above reply, and please try to understand why it is an essentially meaningless question to ask if 'MLM is banned under sharia law?'

That said, it is univerally accepted that lying to, or withholding key-information from, people in order to take their money, is fraud which is a form of theft.

Theft (in all its forms) is prohibited under traditional versions of sharia law, but interestingly the self-appointed leaders of terrorist groups have used their own perverted, non-traditional interpretations of sharia law as a false justification for committing all-manner of heinous crimes (rape, torture, murder, theft, etc.) .

For more than 60 years, a growing number of 'MLM' racketeers have used their own perverted interpretations of dualistic ritual belief as the false justification for stealing from a never-ending chain comprsing countless millions of people around the globe.

All cosmopolitan observers accept that ritual belief can easily be perverted to deceive vulnerable individuals into committing suicide, but few people have understood that it's been even easier to pervert ritual belief in order to deceive vulnerable individuals into committing financial suicide.

Above all persons, the wise and just Prophet Muhammad (as described in the sacred texts of Islam) would have known how easy it is to instigate, or pervert, a ritual belief system for the hidden purpose of human exploitation.

    4. So you're saying MLM is banned under Sharia? Or not?

    5. Anonymous - Please re-read what it says above in my previous two replies.

In effect , what you are asking me is :

Is theft banned under Sharia Law?

Thus, in a way, yes - 'MLM' is banned under all traditional forms of Sharia law, because 'MLM' is merely a means of dissimulating fraud which is a form of theft.

What I was previously trying to point out is the fact that Sharia law is not legislation, and it is not standard throughout the Islamic world. This means that, in certain cases, terrorists have envoked their own perverted interpretations of 'Sharia Law' as a false justification for all manner of crimes.

'MLM' rackets originated in the USA, where Christian texts have been widely-perverted by 'MLM' racketeers as the false justification for their crimes.

Thus, 'FLP,' along with all other 'MLM income opportunity' rackets have all been banned (in theory) in Bahrain, but evidently, they are still operating there.

It's very probable that the Bahrain authorities, advised by Islamic scholars, do realize that numerous US-based 'MLM' rackets have been linked to the 'Religious Right' (which includes Mormonism') and that 'MLM' rackets are a form of pernicious cultism dressed up as 'business.'
